Day of Champions heads to Silverstone for 2010

Monday, 07 December 2009

MotoGP’s official charity, Riders for Health, are pleased to announce that the Day of Champions 2010 will be held before the race at Silverstone next season.

Day of Champions is the perfect way for race fans to start their MotoGP weekend, and Riders for Health are thrilled to be welcomed to Silverstone on MotoGP’s return to this historic circuit.
With the 2010 race scheduled for Sunday 20th June, the Day of Champions will take place on Thursday 17th June.
Each year thousands of fans join Riders for Health and the teams and riders from the MotoGP paddock to help raise thousands of pounds to help get health workers on the road in Africa. Day of Champions 2009 raised a total of £177,000.
In 2010 fans will have the chance to see inside the paddock and pit-lane at Silverstone for the first time. This is a unique chance to see behind the scenes of one of the world’s most exciting sporting events.
As always the highlight of the day will be the famous Day of Champions auction. The stars of MotoGP will be onstage to help auction signed memorabilia, helmets, leathers and paintings. In 2009 the Day of Champions MotoGP auction raised £77,000.
Fans will also get to see the future heroes of MotoGP when the riders from the 125cc World Championship take to the stage, along with the stars of the brand new Moto2 class.
More information about Day of Champions 2010 will be announced soon, along with details of when tickets will be going on sale. To make sure you are the first to know, keep checking the Riders for Health website at www.riders.org.
